At Regency Innovations, we value your business. That's why we provide these complementary tips for the maintenance of your cabinets and counter tops.

Cabinet Doors

• Dust using a lint-free soft cloth, always in the direction of the grain.
• Regular cleaning with a clean, damp cloth is vital to the health of your cabinet doors. Make sure to immediately dry the boxes with a clean, dry cloth after cleaning with a clean, damp cloth.
• Avoid the use of detergents, abrasives or self-polishing waxes on cabinet door surfaces.
• Remove stubborn stains with a mild detergent or soap and very little water.
• Avoid excess moisture and dry off any water that is exposed to the door immediately using a lint-free cloth.
• Avoid the application of steam from kettles, coffee makers & kitchen appliances.
• Avoid standing on or leaning against shelves, drawers or open doors.
• Maintain a constant temperature & humidity level. All fine wood products are best maintained at temperatures of 20–23 degrees Celsius & 45% relative humidity.
• Exposure to strong light sources (UV rays) will affect the colors of the finishes – avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

Cabinet Boxes

• Regular cleaning with a clean, damp cloth is vital to the health of your cabinet boxes. Make sure to immediately dry the boxes with a clean, dry cloth after cleaning with a clean, damp cloth.
• Water or other liquids that are exposed to the surface for prolonged periods of time may cause staining or bubbling.
• Avoid high concentrations of water or very wet towels at joints and seams. This may cause glue failure and lamination separation.

Humidity

• High humidity can warp the shape and structure of wood while low humidity can cause shrinkage or cracking. We recommend that the relative humidity level within your home is between 35% and 45%. This range will prove to be comforting for your family while helping to protect your kitchen cabinets, musical instruments, drywall, wooden furniture and/or other wood belongings or materials from the damaging effects of excessive dryness or moisture.

Sunlight (UV Rays)

• Natural sunlight contains Ultra Violet (UV) light rays that may affect the appearance of your cabinets over time. According to the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) standards, the change in your cabinets' appearance will vary depending on these three factors:
  • Exposure to light (for example, direct from the South, East or West, or indirect from the North)
  • The portion of the cabinet that receives the light (top, base, etc.)
